I couldn't resist talking about gratitude because lets face it, most of us are ungrateful when we receive things we don't like, but we often forget to be grateful when we do receive the good things in life. We forget how blessed we are because we live in a land of plenty.

We live in an age where we like to complain about everything; our job; our financial state; the government; our health; the weather and so on. Don't get me wrong, I know we are a creature of discontent and it is this ability to be dissatisfied that allow us to improve on our services, our inventions, our business including ourselves. But we must put things in perspective and see the good in what we have and that's our challenge in life. And if we do stop and think for one minute how much we really have, it will humble us.

Yes, if we want more happiness in life all we need to do is count our blessings or keep a grateful journal, Oprah endorse it and many people swear by it. I'm not a hypocrite as I'm not one to write but it's a very good practice. I am mindful though which is my thing and I call it mindful of being grateful. However, I did this exercise some days ago where I had to write down all the things I wanted in life and then on another page I had to write all the things I was already grateful for. This grateful list went on and on, I had to stop writing because the list was endless. This was a profound exercise as it revealed to me things that I don't normally think of, or think of as something to be grateful for. I recommend this exercise to everyone, especially, if you don't keep a journal.

So, it is important for us to be mindful of the little things we have everyday for only when we are grateful do we get more. Only when we are grateful do peace enter our mind. A book I recommend reading is called What About Now? by Gina Lake

Be grateful for whatever life throws at you because problems are challenges for which you will be grateful that you've learnt something valuable from it in retrospect. Until next time my friend.
